Your baby can get addicted to the narcotics. My OB told me I will have to be induced if he doesn't come soon naturally because my kidney stones won't pass with a baby in the way, and I can't stay on pain meds any longer.
In my defense i wouldnt just takw it to take it.. because they are very addictive. Ive been on hydrocodone sense o was 23 weeks 2 doses a day 5mg. Ive has several surgeries and have cronic pain in my side due to my stint placements. My dr said there are wemon out there that are completley and utterly addicted to meth and have the healthiest babies. If ypu NEED it you NEED it but as a mother ypu need to look at the pros an cons, if its tolerable tylonal at max strength should due. Otherwise if ypur dr perscribed you perk take that if you feel its needed. I hope my information helped. Because i know. I stress EVERYDAY over my babies health and most the timeid rather deal with the pains..
I guess all doctors suggest different things. Kind of blows my mind that women give me grief for wanting an epidural, but then there's women who take addictive pain meds through their whole pregnancy lol. I guess to each their own. I stick with the low grade stuff. But it's your choice what is best for you.
I'm 19 weeks and my doctor put me on them he said that it would be OK as long as I wasn't taking them for a long period of time I took it for two days and then stopped
With my first pregnancy I was taking vicodin when needed my Dr said that if I took it only when needed that it wouldn't hurt the baby. And my little girl is 6montjs and as healthy as can be. I say talk to your Dr cuz every situation is different
Also she said the withdrawal I was experiencing could of caused miscarriage
I have fibromyalgia and was taking 20mg Oxycodone a day plus other meds
Have been for years.when I found out I was pregnant I quit cold turkey. I went through bad withdrawal and had insomnia. When I finally had my first appointment I told the doctor she put me back on oxycodone 10 mg so ever since about 8 weeks until now @ 37 weeks 4 days I take 5mg twice daily for chronic pain. The doctor felt the benefits outweighed the risks in my situation and didn't feel there was anything wrong with the low dose I've been taking. I also have friends who had to take pain medication during there pregnancies they took hydrocodone or oxycodone and their babies are fine. So id talk with your doctor about it. They go to school for years and have dealt with alot of different situations so im sure they wont tell you to take something that can harm the baby
Tylenol doesn't help at all for me that really ***** we cant take realy nothin for pain and i have really bad back problems :/
You're not supposed to take any of those things during pregnancy unfortunately. Tylenol is really the strongest thing you should be taking. Doesn't really help me :/ but pain meds are no good for baby.
