bassinet or crib

I'm due April 20th I was wondering what other moms recommend & think. I don't want to get a bassinet BC I think its a waste of money if it won't get put to use that long? That's why were buying a crib for? I'm a first time mom so please don't laugh :) lol my husband said I was crazy he has a son from previously.

I purchased a play yard which you can use for the first 7-9 months. Babies can outgrow bassinets way too fast. I have enough space in my room for a play yard to be by my side and I plan on breastfeeding as well... Good luck ladies

I loved having my bassinet. I put it right next to my bed and he slept in that the first 3 months. It was easier to have him right next to me. After 3 months he was to big for it so he now sleeps in his crib or with me:) congrats momma. And as much advice as you get you'll figure out what works best for you and your baby:) I bought my bassinet used just bought a new mattress for it because they are a little pricey ontop of buying a crib! Lol

I have both, bassinet is good for comfort lol so baby is close in his/her early months my little one out grew his at 4 months but he's a big boy so yours may last longer but he's in his crib now, I have issues with separation so I moved his crib into my room hahaha

The only reason i got a bassinet was to keeo the baby with me in my room because i plan to breastfeed for the firsf 6 months and i think it would be worth it. Also they have pack and plays with bassinets built into them if you olan on buying one that might be something to look into. But thefe is nothing wrong with just using a crib
