I just wanted to post although I think the decision has been made lol It might help for the future...I'm a teacher and once someone brought in cheese and crackers and it was sooooo popular! I had to ration it all out!
Also...anything that is not messy...cupcakes can be a nightmare with the frosting and then they are all licking their fingers! Popcorn is a nightmare too!
Looks like you already went to the store, but when I was little my mom brought cheese and crackers to a class party - but she cut the cheese slices w/a cookie cutter (it was Thanksgiving, so she cut them into turkeys). The plate was gone within 10 minutes and all us kids thought the cheese turkeys were the best!!
Wow I must be lame but my first thought was cheese and crackers lol! Just a bit of cheese on a ritz and I'm satisfied. Maybe thats the first thing to come to my head because that sounds soooo good to me! lol
Kels, that's a fantastic idea! Except most children are allergic to peanuts and can swell up if they so much as smell it. Most schools don't allow PB anywhere near their schools.
Apples and oranges is a good healthy idea....you can always do celery with peanut butter and then raisens at the top. I think when I was little my mom did this and she said it was a log with ants on it. I dunno, i'm not a very creative person, lol!
Great ideas thanks! I'm headed to the store now.
Of course healthy options are always nice but if you want to do something more fun since it is a holiday party rice crispy treats are usually a big hit with kids. You could even find some holiday colored cereal and use that instead.
I think that sounds fine to me. Donuts always go over very well too if you're not set on the treats being healthy. You could also get a caramel or chocolate dip for the apples. Just avoid anything with peanuts, because of allergies! (I'm a teacher, and SO many of my students are allergic to peanuts!)
