I'm a bad mom? vent!

So today I took my son to the park and like always I was running around with him, going down the slides, and swinging on the swings. As I was leaving a group of ladies asked if they could talk to me and they began to tell me that I'm a horrible mother. This really caught me by suprise since I have never been called a bad mom. When I asked why they told me that I should not be running around acting like a child especially when I'm pregnant, they told me that parks are for children and that I am extremely immature and setting a bad example for my son and that they felt sorry for my unborn child because "it" would have such a horrible mother. I wanted to cuss them out and punch everyone of them in the face. Instead I said physical activity is actually good during pregnancy, both for me and my daughter not "it". I am speed walking and light jogging not sprinting and doing sit ups which do not harm my child. How does playing with my son and bonding with him make me childish, and who are any of you to judge my mamaturity level when you've been sitting her gossiping, playing on your phones, and cussing very loadly like 7th grade girls? If me playing with my son and being active to have a healthy pregnancy make me a bad mother than what would that make all of you? I'm guessing none of you have ever played with your children a day in their lives so it's all of you who have yet to be real mothers. Do me a favor and stop judging me and improve on your parenting skills. They had nothing to say after that. Some people now a days need seriously reality checks. I do not understand how they see what I was doing as bad parenting. They were all in their 30's and maybe older, I'm 20 years old and just because I'm younger doesn't give them the right to say such dumb ignorant things. What the eff is wrong with people today!

Can i please just say, i am so happy for you that you are staying active and playing at the park with your son! I am 22, I broke my pelvis in an accident 4 years ago and with both pregnancies i can hardly walk around or stand for more than 15 minutes, i really really wish i could play with my 3 year old daughter at the park. I need her daddy with me or she will run around and ill be all hobbling like an old lady lol. I cant even catch her. I hate when someone thinks they are 'better' or more 'wise' because they are simply older? At 20, you have energy, you are an adult, and are perfectly capable of good parenting.

@KDQ That's scary! I don't go down the slide with him because he's never liked it but that is good to know. Definitely won't be doing that with my baby once she's here. Thank you for the heads up!

Ignore them. Good for you for staying active and taking your child out. Too many parents place their kids in front of the tv instead of giving them a chance to run around and have fun. And the fact that you play and run with him means he will have good social skills and won't be another child with obesity. I know too many people that didn't play with their kids and now wonder why their kid is socially akward. I will mention one thing not at all to judge but just to warn. I always thought it was safer going down the slide with the child on an adults lap. As it turns out there are a lot of kids that end up with broken legs from doing this. I had no clue until it happened to a friends son this summer. Google it for more information. But honestly there is nothing wrong with playing and running with your child at the park- you are creating memories!

By the sounds of it you are a great mom... your children will grow up knowing you live them and you will have a strong bond with them while their children will be jugmental bullies just like them with alot of deep rooted problems. Keep doing what you are doing because your doing great

Okay when I was in California. On base. It was non stop drama. That's what this reminded me of. I was like how do these women have the nerve! But anyway, I got judged alot for wanting to stay active while pregnant and eat healthy and no junk food. I got really really really bad rep for that. Which isn't bad at all! Yet they're all smokers and potheads. Okay makes sense.

Omg girl the reason they said that cause all older women judge us cause were young mother I'm 20 and feel judge sometimes..... I would have told them its not your place to judge me only God can he didn't ask for your assistance to do it for u... and second if my young healthy self wanna play with my son I will do that.... I'm a good mother I get up every morning to feed bath play dress them up give them something new to learn everyday so my child will be the smartest kid out there..... how dare you stop me and be cruel.... you need to grow up and walk off that's what I would do.... let them stop me I'm the wrong black girl to play with.... but I wouldn't say one cuss word or get mad or sad just to show I Anit weak I'm sorry u went thru that ur not horrible at all

This post reminds me of how I am with my son we always go to the park and I always swing with him and slide with him and people just look at me.. I just look back and laugh and say some people are just so miserable ... I'm 18+1 now and haven't been to the park lately because I work 8-9 hours then come home and I'm usually wore out.. but soon we will be going again and I'm still going to slide and swing and have fun with him no matter what people think! I think your a great mother for actually playing with your child instead of sitting and watching them play.. I hate seeing moms just sitting and on there phone paying no attention to there child..

No that was the worst part I live off base due to the fact that so many people on base are a holes! I was at a pubic park.
