Off topic, well.....

This might be WAY off topic, but its the same idea i guess, well first off my little girl is now 2 and a half months old and sleeps through the night!!! im not sure if i already talked about that, but im just happy about that, i didnt even put her on a schedule or anything, i let her do her own thing. and then BAM im getting a full 8 hours of sleep. What my question is, is not about my daughter but about my cat, weird i know.... has any one delt with kittens or anything?????? my cat just gave birth yesterday. and i dont know what to do, she decided to nest them underneath my bed, im not really sure if i want them there though, its not safe because they could get stuck in between the drawer and i dont want them to get hurt. how do i move them without stressing out my cat, i tried once and blocked it off, but she kept grabbing her babies and started rubbing them on the bottom frame of the bed trying to get through, i freaked out cuz i thought she was going to hurt them, so i let her back under there. please message me if you have any experience with momma cats and newborn kittens.. im sorry for being way off topic......

I've had 5 different momma cats in my life, so I know exactly what your going trough.  For some reason the momma thinks she's in a good place and it usually is the worse place possible for her babies.  This is what worked for me with all of them.  I got a box big enough for momma and her babies.  I put a blanket at the bottom of the box and sealed the box shut with duct tape.  Then I cut a flap big enough for the momma cat to jump trough.  Don't cut a square hole because the light will get in and she won't keep them in there if there is light coming trough.  Keep the box in a corner so it's easily accessible to her and there isn't a lot of human traffic.  Put her in the box first and she'll jump out.  So then when you put the babies in there, they'll smell that momma was there.  After they are all in there, she will find them and she will jump in the box all on her own.  Best of luck!  If you have any other questions feel free to ask me.  :)

There is a Cat Forum here on MedHelp. You will get a lot more advice and info there.

My personal opinion is that that is where Momma has chosen to keep them and you should just let her. How many cats hide their kittens under porches and the little kitties are just fine!
