Hi!
It is about equally likely that you are miscarrying, or that the pregnancy will continue. The fastest way to find out would be to do serial quantitative HCG levels and a progesterone level. If your progesterone level is over 15, chances are that the pregnancy is healthy. If this is the case, your HCG levels should be increasing. Depending on the level, doubling about every 48 hours. By week seven, you should see a fetal pole and a heart beat.
I hope this all turns out OK for you!
Good luck!

Also, if your dates are off even by 1 week it's possible your obstitrician just couldn't see a baby, but one was there. I think at 6 weeks it's only 5mm long.
I'm not a doctor but I had something similar with my last pregnancy. My doctor called it a blighted ovum and I ended up miscarrying, but my body took several weeks to start getting rid of the sac. If that's your course, I'm so sorry. It is very dissappointing and frustrating especially if you are trying to concieve.
I went through (IVF) In invitro fertility treatment. I had my embryo transfer on June 12th successfully, and went back to the clinic for my pregnancy test on June 25th which is 14 days after ET, and my result was negative. Today June 30th is my 19th day and my period didn't come. If I run another pregnancy test tomorrow, can I get a positive result? If not what could be the reason for my negative pregnancy results when I didn't see a period?

That's what happened to me. The pregnancy started, my body formed a gestational sac, but at some point early on the baby was lost and it took a while for the rest of the "matter" to pass.
So that means i could have miscarried and not pass the sac...did u pass out the sac like a period? so basicall if this course is correct i am just waiting to pass the sac?
