i had a July baby and i only ever put a recieving blanket on her for majority of the time, just something light to cover her...thicker blankets are nice to use on the floor for baby to play on, or outside... but i cant say i used anything to thick till winter...im in Canada :)
I grew up here, but lived in the midwest for about 10 years, so you could say I'm readjusting. The smaller ones are called receiving blankets, not sure where you are or what kind of stores you have access to, but I found some at both Walmart and Target in the baby aisles. You can also undoubtedly find them online if you don't feel like sewing.
I agree lol... I am not used to this heat, my first 3 boys were born in Washington state... 2 in December and 1 in April lol. I did grab like 2 thicker blankets tho... I just can't seem to find thinner ones, so I think I will just make my own lol
The car seat cover I mentioned. Maybe we should start a "raising kids in hot-as-heck places" forum lol.

You'll be able to play it by ear...I'm planning to have some of each, both light and heavier blankets. My little one will probably be wearing long-sleeve sleepers and I'm already planning to be trapped indoors for a couple of months. I don't believe in being hot and since she's gonna be too little to head to the pool yet, air conditioning it is. :)
Outdoor activities are rare here in the summer lol. And ac is a must lol. I'm just a little worried about over heating her
I'm in Texas and due in June, so we have the same issue down here. I would assume you guys have pretty good air conditioning, so you probably will need some good blankets. Lighter clothing, etc. for when you go out, but it's pretty likely y'all will keep her inside during most of the hotter period, right? By the way, they have bug and sun shade covers for their little car seat carriers...I bought one and think it's great.
