day trip at 39 weeks?

So I was thinking of going on  family day trip to the ocean on the day I hit 39 weeks. Its about a 2 hour drive from home.
There is a visitor center at the beach we would go to and major cities or small towns super close by. Also seeing on the day I would be going there is a sand castle contest going on there will be alot of people there and a lot of park rangers out. So getting help just encase would not be a issues. Plus I would be going with my parents and possible a lot of friends.
I have been having a lot of pain but the doctors office keeps telling me its all normal just baby moving down, body getting ready.
What is everyone point of view on a day trip at 39 weeks?

It looks like you already have yourself convinced that its a good idea to go. Even if you do go in to labor you will probably still have enough time to drive home.

I went to my cousins wedding 4hrs away and had an overnight stay 2days befoe my due date. I was 6 days late in the end so I'm glad I went. Its differentin the UK though I think as I could have gone to the nearest hospital to deliver. You are unlikely to deliver within the time it would take you to drive back even if you did go into labour...I would go.
