Sex

I hope that caught your attention.  The correct term when finding out if the baby is a male or female is SEX, not gender.  No prenatal test is going to tell you your child's gender.

A child's SEX is biological.  XX or XY, penis or vagina.
A child's GENDER is psychological.

The majority of the time they do match up but they are NOT interchangeable.

Both of you made me laugh. (I also hate both of those descriptions Ashelen) Everyone more or less understands what someone means when either of the words are used. It may not be appropriate, but it's so much bother to try and correct someone each and every time it's done because it's so often. We all more or less understand what they mean each time anyways.

That made me laugh so hard because it's so true...we'd also have to address every time someone inappropriately refers to ejaculation as "nutting" or "blowing a load" (I shudder at both of those descriptives, by the way).
