UPDATE: Fertility Specialist

My husband and I had our fertility specialist appt. yesterday, Thursday.  On Wednesday he had to deposit his sperm in a cup so they could test it.  Well, it turns out his motility (the movement of the sperm) was low.  They like to see atleast 50% of the sperm moving and only 45% of his were.  Actually, not too off... but still low.  Then, his morphology (the way the sperm is shaped) was also low.  They say that atleast 30% of the sperm should appear "normal".  Only 22% of his sperm had a normal appearance.

We are now considered candidates for IVF, but since we are really not having a problem getting pregnant, our specialist wants us to wait to see if we get pregnant this cycle.  According to my ultrasound yesterday, he believes that I will ovulate on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.  If we are not pregnant within the next 6 months, he would like to go ahead with the IVF treatments.  So, PRAY that we get pregnant and that the "normal" sperm reach my egg! ;)

He thinks that my 2 previous miscarriages were caused by the other 78% of sperm that had genetic defects to them.  Nature was just doing its job I guess.  But, boy it really hurts your heart!  I will keep you all posted and hopefully I will get a BFP this month ;)

Keep a pillow handy and put it under your hips after you're done.  Make sure to stay still for a few minutes afterwards too (20 min or so) - every little bit helps!  Good luck!!
