am i pregnant? i have no clue!

i had my period for 5 days starting on November 10, 2009 and on the 29th my boyfriend and i had protected sex, on December 4th and 10th we had protected sex as well. i was supposed to start on the 10th but didn't. Since about December 8th I've been having pregnancy symptoms such as tiredness, mood swings, bloating(weight gain), weird abdominal feelings, and sore breasts. and on December 11th i had this weird feeling thinking i was pregnant, so i went to the store and bought First Response early pregnancy test a box of 3 and all 3 came out positive, then my boyfriend went and bought a clear blue digital and it came out "not pregnant". i ended up "thinking" i started on the night of December 16th, but that only lasted until the night of December 18th( only 2 days long ). My period was like blood clotty, and darker like brown color and then it went really light and then stopped and now there is a little bit of brown-like discharge, (really gross!) i took a first response digital and it said yes+ and then later on i took a ETP digital and that said no, and then i drank a lot of water, around 4 tall glasses full, and then another test said no- and then i read on the internet that drinking water before taking a pregnancy test makes it go crazy so i figured that was the problem, but i took 10 tests all together, 6 said yes and 4 said no. i dont have a clue what to think. i need some advice or help. please help me.

Hi!
There are not very many things that can cause a false positive pregnancy test.  There ARE some things (such as dilute urine) that can cause a false negative test.  If you were my patient, I would run a blood test.  You can often get a free test done at many clinics or doctor's offices if you call around.  Any walk in clinic, or primary care doctor could do a blood test for you too.
Good luck!

My understanding is that pregnancy tests are most accurate with first morning urine (FMU) since it is very concentrated. Drinking lots of water before you take a test just dilutes your urine to the point where it's mostly water and the hcg hormone can no longer be detected.

Anyway, with so many positive tests, I would definitely schedule an appointment with a doctor and get a blood test to get a definitive answer. Good luck!
