Mucus plug/labor question.

Do I have to loose my mucus plug or have my water break before going into labor?? I will be 38 weeks in Tuesday and I am pretty sure I have been having on and off contractions.

No you do not have to lose your plug or have your water break before going into labor....most women don't even notice losing their plug or you could be like me and lose it at 35 weeks and then have to be induced to have your baby lol
My water didn't break until I hit 5 cm and had already been having strong contractions for like an hour

No not at all!! I've had 3 children and never seen a mucous plug. First time my waters were broken for me and second and third time they broke seconds before my babies arrived. You dont need those things to happen first :)
