How did you celebrate Mother's Day?

Hi guys! Sorry I've been gone...long story short, we were given a month to move out of the house we were renting, and the thought of throwing even MORE money down the drain for countless numbers of years as we continued to rent was depressing...so we began kicking around the idea to buy. Well we did buy...we found a beautiful 3 bedroom house on a lake with a separate family room and we closed almost a month to the day that we found out we were having to leave. We spent a week of day in and day out fixing the place up (it was a foreclosure - the family who lived here before is a horribly sad story that never should've happened) and then we moved about a week ago....I love it here. It's so quiet and so nice, and I've decorated it to my taste from the ground up.

Anyway we JUST got our internet transferred which is why it's taken so long to get back, lol. We're doing well..I spent Mother's Day being pampered. My husband slipped up big time though thinking that waking me before the kids were up for a little "early morning romance" would be a good way to ring in Mother's Day...and he was very persistent until I finally told him to leave me the F alone and let me sleep. ohhhh i was so ticked, LOL. So he's taking a "personal day" off of work tomorrow (he has to or his leave will expire anyway by June) to let me sleep in...smart move, hubby! We bought an above-ground pool and I've been enjoying it every afternoon since...tomorrow we're starting the process of fencing in our yard and I just LOVE where we are.

how did everyone else celebrate Mother's Day, all you mothers, and mothers-to-be? I'm so sorry I've been MIA...hope everyone is well!

-Ashe

(p.s. in the picture...the two in orange are mine, lol - curly hair on the far left is Kahlan and the baby is Grey)

I spent the day being sick and looking after Lily. She had only been released from hospital the day before and she was still very sick. We will be celebrating latter in the month.

Went to church, church provided breakfast (Einstein Bro bagels, yum!). Then off to in-laws' house which we normally do after church on Sundays but the guys made the food. We had steak and chicken. My husband made some macaroni thing and there was grilled asparagus, zucchini, squash and corn. Am I making you hungry? It was so good!

Went home, took a nice nap, woke up and did the dishes, etc.

I got the royal treatment on mother's day.  I got to sleep in while my hubby and the baby went shopping.  I woke up to breakfast cooked, a fresh cup of coffee, flowers, and a card.  Then my husband changed poopy diapers for the day and made me a great steak dinner.  I had the best mother's day any mom could ask for, and because my baby didn't see me for a couple of hours he was extra excited to see me when I came downstairs for the day :)

My husband and I aren't real big on holidays. But I was thinking we would do SOMETHING for my first Mother's Day. Nope. He did say "Happy Mother's Day". I hope he realizes he has set the bar really low for Father's Day. HA! My husband is really a great man and I have to forgive him for not 'getting' it. We don't even exchange Christmas gifts.

For us, we went to DH's mothers house for a cookout. It was really nice. We played volleyball, and I ate myself sick on all the food. It was wonderful <3

DH went to this mom's and I took Lexi to my mom's. My family had taco bell, kfc, and barbecue. Lol. I finally met up with DH at like 4 and he didn't even tell me happy mother's day or get me anything. My mom got me a dozen of the flowers we had at our wedding and I thought that was really sweet. We ended up having dinner from Zaxby's and DH got miffed when I told his mom he didn't get me anything. He said he asked me what I wanted, and he did. But I feel like I shouldn't have to ask. I guess I just wanna be surprised for once. lol.

Congrats on closing on your house! That's awesome! We moved into an apt in late Feb. The ppl above us are so noisy!

I spent the day doing what I normally do.  LAUNDRY LOL.  Well not all of it. We did go get something to eat.  I got taco bell ...yeah I'm a cheap date!  We let the kids play in the little pool we got them.  The kids made me some really neat stuff that I'm tickled pink about.  DH of course didn't bother to even get me a card, but he never does, for any holiday.  So I'm used to that.  I told him I knew what he could do for me for Mother's Day-he could put up the 4 sets of blinds in the living room.  He said "oh that's not bad" well here it is Tuesday and guess what? I guess I'll be putting them up myself anyway.   I knew it would end this way though.  All in all Mother's Day was good, I got to be with my kids and that's what matters.
