Hi I'm just wondering when would u say it's best too exclusively breastfeed until,  do u have to wean them at 6 months or can u carry on breastfeeding? I wanna carry on exclusively breastfeeding until at least a year but don't no if I can without solids! Have any of u breastfed past 6months if so until when :)

Honestly its not up to you.
Some children want to do it longer its their security.
Others wean early.
I waited until my children gave it up them selves.
It is a wonderful thing and should not be looked down on whether your child is a month or 4. That's why so many mothers do not do it fear of judgement!
My first stopped around 7 months when he was eating solids. Just wanted nothing to do with it. So we went to a bottle and pumping.
My daughter was 6 months only due to reflux condition.

Going past one year helps the immune system get stronger, the longer you go for. i breast fed my daughter till she was 23 months old and would have continued...she had been around kids with pneumonia and other seriouse illnesses and never even got a cold from being around other kids when they are sick.

In my opinion breastfeeding past a year is purposeless. Your child can now consume all the nutrients they need from solids. What did they find beneficial about doing it so long, besides it probably bringing comfort to the child.

Preschool here is a year before kindergarten. So like 4 or 5 years old.

Wow five that's alot of years good for her tho that's brilliant so is eight months my son is 3months and I'm finding it hard already. And preschool is that nursery? I hopefully wanna make it too a year at least :)

God my mother breastfeed my brother till he was in preschool.

you can continue to breast feed for as long as yr comfortable my friend still breast feeds an her son is five so.. all depends on you i only did it until bout 8mths.
