Use a digital test. The "pregnant" or "not pregnant" are unmistakeable. I used first response, and then double-checked with a digital test...told me I was definitely pregnant in about 2 seconds.

When I found out I was pregnant I looked at my husband said "I'm breaking out I need a pregnancy test" I took a test and the second line was incredibly faint so I saw the doctor and was indeed just under 3 weeks pregnant. If that second line is there you probably are. Let us know I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

The line colour after the time limit is up is irrelevant, as long as you had a positive that had colour in it within the specified time frame (usually 10 minutes).

I used a cheapie one, which had pink dye! going to take another test tomorrow, as im due tomorrow but no signs of af as of yet! i really want to be, ive never had a positive test before so im finding it hard to try and not be too excited as i dont want to get heartbroken! there was no white/grey evap line on the test just pink, and really really thin. Also looked at it today and the line had turned a little brown? Was there enough hg hormone to detect it?

What brand test did you use? Is it a pink or blue dye? Blue dyes are more notorious at giving false positives and evap lines that pink dyes. I assume however you used First Response, which is pink dye and very reliable. Based on a 28 day cycle, you would be just about 4 weeks pregnant (4 weeks on the 28th) giving you a LMP of December 31st
