When I was pregnant my hips hurt really bad because my little girl loved laying by my hips and on my nerves and my doctor told me it was okay to use one just make sure it's not on your tummy
When I was in hospital at 27-29wks they gave me them constantly but said to only use them for 10mins at a time and never directly on the skin.
