how early?

I just took a home pregnancy test and it came out positive. I'm only 5 days late. Is this too soon? Is there such thing as a "false positive"? Also, I carry large buckets of ice at my job, when do you worry about carrying things that are too heavy?

Call ur doctor to get a blood test. As far as carrying stuff u should be fine. My first pregnancy I worked at the state store (liquor store) and had to lift heavy cases (about 40-50 lbs) my whole pregnancy. My doctor told me I could continue doing so since my body was use to it from working there for 5 years. She said as long as I wasn't having any pain in doing so. Of course once I really got big, the people I worked with didn't want me to do any lifting, they thought it was wrong. But I lifted cases until I had my son at 39 weeks. It really depends on ur body and if its something ur body is use to. Now I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my second, and have been lifting my 2 year old (who is 42 lbs) all the time.

You are more likely to get a false negative than a false positive.  I got a positive 2 days before my missed period. :0) So its not too soon if your already late.Carrying stuff too heavy not till your alot further along right now your baby is tiny tiny.

I say call your doctor for a blood test if it says positive it probably is. You can also retest first thing in the morning.
