is anyone else in pain?

I am 35 weeks and I been having a hard time at my doctor visits. He checked me for vaginal culture and I was in so much pain! If a finger hurt me what am I going to do when I have to push the baby out? I'm terrified! Is anyone experiencing any thing similar? my nurse asked me if I was having intercourse cause it helps but I'm single and I would feel uncomfortable having sex with anyone other than the dad but we unfortunately are not together. Any advice on giving birth?

At that stage things going in hurt!! I had a natural, drug free delivery with my daughter and it genuinely wasn't that bad...but it did really hurt me when they examined me, much more intensely than the actual contractions, it also really hurt me when they touched my belly to feel the contractions it made them seem 20x worse, weird huh?!!!

It really isn't that bad for some people, I've had two drug free labours that were completely bearable. I've had gallbladder attacks that were way worse than labour. Just because you're in pain now doesn't mean you will be in labour, remember that in labour your body has done a lot of preparation and is ready for it.

Sorry to hear you are in pain. There are pain medication that they can give you during birth so that you don't have to deal with the pain. I know a lot of people want to avoid the epidural, but believe me, I was the one person who swore I would never get it and when I was in so much pain I decided to get it. I forgot about what I swore I would never get. It is painful, and I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just warning you... If anyone ever tells you it's not that bad, they are lying to you. Have you gone to birthing classes? I never went, but I've heard they are very helpful in giving tips on how to relieve the pain. That's something you should consider.
