labour cake

Has anyone tried the labor cake to induce labor?? Or anyone that you know tried it? Did it work?

I'm only 32 weeks so I'm not going to try it for a while yet, but it seems like a very natural way to go about it rather than something like castor oil so I think its something I might try.. besides, it sounds delicious!!!

Its devils food cake
Once you mix that all add in
1 cup sour cream
1 bag chocolate chips
1 pack dry instant chocolate pudding mix

its 8:45am here and now my stomach is growling for chocolate cake. lol! maybe thats what "encourages" the labor... scaring the baby out with all the growling and noises.

Every week is essential during pregnancy. I know you're fed up etc but there's a reason why we are pregnant for 40-42weeks.. baby will come when its ready..

nah it's not a brand, it's a type of chocolate cake - just richer than a normal choc cake =]

The website said its because chocolate contains penylethylamine which can increase the production of endorphins and oxytocin. Ocytocin is released during labor which is why the chocolate overload cake can induce it. Also it says that chocolate contains caffeine and other stimulants which can also help to kick start labor.
Sounds much nicer than castor oil to me, plus you don't end up with a bad case of diarrhea! Hehe
