Also, pregnancy tests are no longer accurate if you look at them hours after you use it. The urine saturates the test strip and will usually, eventually cause a faint positive to show up even if you're not pregnant. But good luck!
I had the same thing happen to me last month. I bleed for two days so I thought it was my period but this month when I was supposed to start on the 9th it didn't show up. So after missing my period about a week I took a test that came out positive. I didn't believe so I ended up taking 8 test! Every name brand there is.lol needless to say I'm pregnant now I just don't know how far along yet. My doctor appointment is tomorrow!! Good luck!

They recommend taking tests when you first go pee in the morning because that will read your hormone levels more accurately. Also, I had one brand show negative while another brand showed positive for the first few weeks. I'm 29 weeks now. So those are two factors to consider.
Don't stress. Sometimes when you take tests later in the day your hormones aren't strong enough for a test to pick up. The best time to test is in the morning right when you wake up with first morning urine. And even though its possibly it is verrrrry unlikely to get a false positive. Give it a couple days and take another in the morning right when you get up. Good luck!
