Smoking would only have to do with the baby's lungs and discharge is normal. If the doctor said the baby is growing fine then you have nothing to worry about.
I'm very afraid and kind of paranoid because past 4 months plus I was smoking and drinking without realizing I was ald pregnant . Only about 2 weeks ago I went for check up its ald 20 weeks and 3 days . Doctor says my baby growth is good . But my concern now is that I'm afraid of preterm labour . No much symptoms , just slightly more of discharged coming out .
Why do you think you'll have a premature baby? What are your symptoms? Yes and 24 is the survival stage. I'm in a current situation now regarding preterm birth. So maybe I can help answer your concerns.
Where I am, typically after 24wks you have a viable pregnancy with a 50% chance of survival unless there are complications effecting the baby which you would know about at the 18-20wk morphology scan. My friend had her baby at 25wks and they gave it a 5% chance but this week she would have been 40wks and graduated from nicu to special care nursery :) With my first I went into preterm labour at 34wks but they stopped it and I had a csection at 35wks, this time I went into preterm labour at 27wks and they stopped it 3 times over 2wks now I'm almost 31wks. Both times they were expecting it because of complications they knew about tho, it wasn't out of the blue. And with my first I put on 37lbs but this one I've only gained 12lbs, both times baby has been growing great, tummy size has not been a sign of a problem for me. Wishing you a smooth pregnancy!
