I'm not sure that much can help speed things along, that part is down to our bodies playing the game and dilating fast! Walking and swimming are great though for keeping you physically fit and keeping up your stamina which believe me you need for labour! Being too fit can be a hindrance, I worked in a leisure centre and one of the instructors was pregnant, she taught classes until late in her pregnancy and she had quite a long and difficult birth, the doctors told her it was because her muscles were too tight. Walking and swimming are great and get yourself an exercise ball, I got one for around £5 (dont waste money on an expensive one) and just sit on it, bounce a little, they are also great for leaning over if you go on your knees on the floor, they help keep your pelvis open and apparently encourage baby into the right position. It also helps with back pain as it helps with posture. The rest is really down to our bodies!

They say that squats help to stretch and open  up your pelvis a lot. I'm going on 9 weeks left starting tomorrow. I'm so anxious! I get those sharp pains too and I think it's just the baby jabbing me. I'm hoping my little man comes at 37 weeks july 16th.. It was my mawmaws bday. I know most younger girls will deliver earlier than 40 weeks and older women will deliver past 40 weeks. That's with the people I know personally. Plus I guess it just depends on your body and how fast of a grower your little one is.

right I understand completely ! due to the fact I only have 1Oweeks going on 9 left. what will be a good way to make labor go by faster,? easier? and less pain! I mean I know its not possible, and they will drug me mostlikely but what I'm asking is, am I pretty much to late to make it go faster, easier and less pain? because my grandmother told me that she worked out throughout my mom and it was a fast labor, but that was throughout the whole pregnancy, I haven't Ive just been walking a lot. and my feet hurt and back. lol,

I'm not sure on whether more arrive early or late but anything between 37 and 42 wks is considered fairly normal. Most folk I know have been late. It depends where you live really, in the UK they wont induce before your due date unless its really necessary, and even after it they wont do anything other than a sweep until nearly 2wks over, I think its a bit different in the US though. I wouldnt personally recommend being induced unless it is really necessary, my first was (because although I had started contracting and dilating I didnt progess and lived 3hrs away from the hospital so they wanted me to stay) I wish I had refused as it was only really done for their convenience and didnt go well for us. My second baby, I had a sweep done by the midwife at 3 days overdue and had my baby less than 24hrs later after a labour that was perfect and lasted only 4hrs! I firmly believe they are best left alone to come when they are ready! Bear in mind that even if your baby chooses to come early, after 30wks the chances of any major problems are drastically reduced, and of course with each day and week that passes the chances of problems fall even more. Thinking on it, I think that first babies tend to be later, dont know if theres any real basis to that, but it is something I hear a lot. It will be nerve wracking for you especially if unexpected, I was 24 when I had my first and he was planned, but I still got the fright of my life when he arrived!! I'm still in shock over this one, I hadnt planned on ever having more after I had my daughter 5yrs ago, but my husband and I split up and I met a lovely guy and we wanted to have a baby of our own, so again, even though it was planned and is very much wanted, and I'm 32, I'm still panicking a little!! Ask anything you like, I'm more than happy to answer anything I can, just keep in mind that anything I say will be just based on my own experiences!!

wheeew ,don't get me wrong, I'd love to meet her a little sooner than August, but I want her to be ready lol. & are babies normally not born on their due date, more so before or after but rarely the day their due ? I'm sorry if I'm asking to many questions, like I said, first child, don't know much on birth and such, never planned on having a baby til I was probably older than I am now..

Not really, my first was fully engaged for weeks and was 4days overdue as was my second. I'm not holding out any hope of this one arriving any earlier!

does that mean if the baby's head is going into my pelvis that i can go into labor sooner,? doesn't that mean the baby will be early ? and that's not good right? see this is my first child, I'm 18 I'll be 19 a month after she is born, so I have no idea about a lot of things, and this is probably one of my favorite apps on my phone! && it helps out a whole lot .

No, its baby hurting us! The other thing we have going on is that our pelvis needs to stretch and we produce lots of relaxin, which loosens everything up. My baby at 32wks had already started to engage and at my last check at 34wks, the midwife said his head is already halfway into my pelvis. I think this could be a big cause of it...this is my third baby, but I dont remember ever having pains like it before, I suppose though because it is my third that I'm a bit more chilled out about all the aches and pains cos I know it will only get worse before it gets better!!

I get that too...I think its ligaments. Are you far on? If I stretch the wrong way I get a sharp pain and now I've started to get it when I waken up in the morning (as if getting out of bed isnt hard enough!!) I think its just the weight of baby pulling on the muscles and ligaments, it goes away when I do finally haul myself up! I'm 35wks.
