Oky so im 26wks and this whole pregnancy has been really difficult. My boyfriend doesnt seem to understand that i get tired and at work they get mad if i try to sit down for a bit if my feet hurt. At work they can be total jerks but i mean i still work there..so my question is..is it oky for me to want to quit my job? I mean i dont even get to take a lunch break even if its slow.

me too! we get 12 weeks unpaid, but i have to save for those months w/out a paycheck.

flower216: i hold to the fact that a sahm is much better for the kiddos than one who works. i know that my working full time is not the best for my daughter, and it kills me, but without my paycheck i wouldn't be able to pay rent or buy groceries. i think mommies can put their careers on hold until their children are in school at least. IF they can afford it of course. not everyone is that blessed.

At least you get paid maternity leave. I'm part time and I guess part timers don't get paid maternity leave...so I have to try to save enough money for bills for when the baby gets here.

they're not allowed to discriminate against pregnant women, or treat you any different. google pregnancy discriminatory act. and no, its not wrong to want to quit, i wouldn't be working if my husband and i didn't need my income, id be home with my daughter. if you have the resources to quit, then absolutely go for it!

Don't quit then... Just stick it out or go to the labour board (that's what its called in Canada) and file against the company you work for.

There are laws which state that you should be allowed to take breaks or rest periods during your shifts.  I'm not sure if thats just in the UK, it shouldnt be though. Have you spoken to human resources? Or queried about early maternity leave? I know how you feel, my work were terrible. They had me lifting sofas and washing machines throughout my pregnancy.  They wouldnt do the risk assessment either. I was admitted to hospital twice due to them not letting me use the bathroom at all. I kept getting infections. Along with all sorts of other things. Keep your head high and don't let them bully you out of a job. Good luck. X
