Thank you for telling me about your experience, unfortunately i will always have to have a c-section because I'm too small to have a baby naturally but i will take your advise and talk with my Dr and hopefully the same thing doesn't happen again i have my first appointment on the 19th the Dr that delivered my son moved an hour and a half away so i have to see someone new but depending on what they say i may be making the long drive to see the dr that i want and has experience. Congratulations and good luck hopefully you have a safe delivery with this little one.
What a shame you had to go through that.
I didnt have quite such a bad experience as you, but I did have a pretty hard time delivering my son, they ended up inducing me, I wasnt able to push him out as I was exhausted and his head was in the wrong position so they had to give me an emergency spinal which left me with nerve damage and they used forceps which tore the umbilical cord and also ripped me to shreds, I lost a lot of blood. It took me a long time to recover mentally from it.
When I was expecting my second, I just kept telling myself it really couldnt go much worse than the last time, lo and behold, I had a 4hr labour with only gasand air, and I had only a tiny graze. It couldnt have gone much better!
With you having had pre eclampsia, you do have a greater chance of developing it again unfortunately, but hopefully they will keep a better eye on you and if you do need to have another section, perhaps there are measures they can take to help prevent the problems you experrienced with your uterus? Its definitely worth your time having a good long chat with your doctor or midwife about all that went wrong and ways to prevent the same things happening again.
I know my tale is nothing compared to the trauma you suffered, but I wanted you to know that it is possible to have a good experience after a bad one, I hope that the same can happen for you. I'm 39+1wks with my third and really nervous about how this labour will go, fingers crossed its as good as the last time!
