I just had my baby boy on saturday

Hi everyone, this is my first time on this forum and i just had my baby boy i was about 24 weeks pregnant, he weighs 1 pound 1 oz and is 13 inches long, hes really small :(

its crazy i cant hold him yet, i cant wait though and i love whe he squeezes my pinky with his tiny hand :) , its not my first baby but my earliest born baby :(. hes doing good though, just beside with his hole in his heart and his IVH  :(. but i know he will get through this. My first son i lost, then i lost twins. Then i got pregnant with a little guy whot i gave up for adoption born at 32 wks weighed about 3 pounds :( then had a little girl named kallie who i get visitation with she was born at  26 wks, and little keaton who was born at  24 wks. I have severe medical problems that wont allow me to carry a baby full term :(

Hi katie my wife and I  2 years ago we have premature baby too
24 weeks  1 pound 12'' hehe smaller eh!?  bleeding level 3  we pray a lot
and thanks God now is just running and singing all elmos song
he talk and better than some kids of his age he know count from 1 to 10
and colors and all my family names his name is Sebastian  
and he spend 4 months in hospital.......your kid is going to be a miracle
read him a book , sing him a song, talk to him give him "canguro Theraphy"
it help a lot and !DON'T QUIT"!

i had a premature baby girl. to be fair a lot heavier than your little lad weighing 4lb. but i know exactly how you feel. its very worrying but u know what after all the tubes an incubater shes came thru tops. shes 5 now and at school[ the smallest in her class] so what shes an angel and a fighter to me and incredibly gorgeous. ur baby will be just the same uel see. someday u will be reassusing someone else just like i have to you. main thing is you be strong positive minded and well rested for him. he needs you and your energy for when he gets home

Thanks, yeah my little man is a fighter, and he has along road ahead of him:( But i know he will get through it :)

well if it means anything my cousin was born at 21 weeks and was 1/2lbs.  He was the size of a man's hand.  He was on oxygen for over a year but he is now in his early 20's and yes he has gone through a lot as the cleft if his mouth never developed properly so he had to have surgery, he was born with green teeth, and his bum wasnt fully developed.

My cousin is a survivor and he is the most amazing person I have met. He is healthy now and I know your son will be the same.
