Hi,
How is your grandma? White patches in the mouth may be caused by chemical burns from substances such as aspirin, infections such as thrush, smoker's keratosis, leukoplakia, trauma and friction (poorly fitting dentures, cheek biting, sharp teeth or fillings) and other conditions that needs to be evaluated further. A biopsy may be done to rule out malignancy. Discuss these with her doctor or have another opinion done to determine the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
