What Is This?

Its creeping up on Christmas (only a couple weeks away!), and my boyfriend said he needs to talk to my dad about a gift he wants to give me. He kept bothering me about it, trying to make me anxious and guess. Which i dont mind- but its got me wondering what it is?
he said:

"my mom has gotten two of these from my dad, she loves them. and I need your dad to help me a little bit. So I need to talk to him alone."

What on earth could it be? I was guessing an engagement ring. But not sure.

Today, when I told him my brother and his soon-to-be fiance set a date for their wedding (because of a really short engagement time), he asked if he could see the ring before almost anyone else. And that made me think, is he trying to see what is out there without having to go to a jewelry store, and because he knows me and my brother, and his fiance all have the same style and likings? Maybe Im just freaking out, and hoping for an engagement this christmas.

well I don't think it is now- and I'm kind of upset about it. but I want him to be comfortable with it too. but whatever- I can only be so upset

my husband did the same thing to me after we had been together for 2 years. Good luck girl cuz from the way things sound i would have thought the same thing!
