Off topic but more comfortable with you ladies!

Okay ladies, I know this isn't on topic but I feel like I know you ladies better than anyone else and am most comfortable with you guys.  I just noticed today that I am spotting for some reason and have no idea why.  My boyfriend and I have sex every weekend when he is home so now I'm worried it could be implantation bleeding but I'm on bc.  My last period started September 29th so it isn't do for about another 2 weeks, so this can't be from my period.  Do you ladies have any idea??

Birth control isnt 100% effective, so it very well  could be. You are just going to have to wait and test! If its what you want, Good luck!!

The thing is I have been on the bc since June and have had sex several times when I would be most fertile and haven't gotten pregnant on this pill, so shouldn't that mean it's working or??

I was on the pill for 3 and a half years, and i was of fit for a week and got pregnant right away. The pill does not always work. My SIL got pregnant 3 times on the pill. Are you taking it everyday at the same time??

Im taking it everyday around the same time.  I usually take it at like 10 or so at night but sometimes im off by like half hour or an hour, so pretty close.  I did miss a pill... lets see when was it... umm like the 11th or 12th but took it at like 4am when I woke up and realized I forgot it.  But my instructions say that you only need to use back up protection if you miss 2 pills in a row. So I don't know.  I told my mom I was spotting and she said it could be that I'm ovulating... so maybe thats it.

I typed in my dates on an ovulation predicter site online and it said that I would be most fertile between the 10th and 15th, so that would say im not ovulating, and that is also around the time I missed a pill and had sex, but if it is implantation bleeding would it be starting so soon?

I doubt your pregnant...Bc pills are pretty effective...sometimes birth control just messes up your period..no matter how long youve been on it...

Avas~ I'm hoping that is the case.  I didn't have implantation bleeding my first time and I have only spotted during my period, never in the middle.

You might have a mild cervical irritation or,  sometimes women on the pill spot.  Do you still have your package insert for your pills?  Read through that and see what it says about spotting.

I actually don't have it anymore, I will look it up online and see if I can find anything.  I'm now stressing out.

Dont stress, I know easier said then done! But stressing will make your period late. Just relax and try to think positive.

birth control pills can cause you to spot if your not on the right one for you.  Unless you are purposely missing your pills and have done something that would mess them up, (miss pills) then I would say not pregnant.

laura~ I missed one pill but made it up right away when I noticed that I forgot.  I looked at the info and it did say it could cause spotting if you miss a pill but I have before and that didnt happen and it also said that if you only miss one pill there is no need for back up prevention, so who knows!

I would say you are okay.  How long have you been on those pills?  Some pills don't have enough estrogen (i believe its estrogen) in them for some females and it causes break through bleeding.  Have you been on any other meds

I started them in June.  I just started on Cymbolta a few weeks ago, that may have something to do with it... I don't know.

You're probaby just spotting.  It took me a couple tries before I found the right bc pills.  I seemed to spot on every pill I was on.  Eventually I found the right ones.  You haven't been on them that long either, your body is probably still adjusting to them.

Not to be nosy but may I ask why you started Cymbalta? I ask because I am on it for Nerve pain & I had a spine stimulater impanted to hopefully be able to get off Cymbalta. If you can you might want to do some research about it. I found out some nasty things about it after it was too late that it if I had I would not have gone on it. Just a heads up it is possible this is whats causing you're spotting I have no idea how it works with bc I have an IUD. Good luck I hope everythings ok.

There are some not so good side affects & some really bad withdrawl symtoms. The withdrawls can even occur when taken off "properly" by a Dr. I accidently lost my meds and skipped a couple days until I found them & trust me not good, the worst ~for me~ was what the pharmacist said were called brain zaps & this was after just 2 missed doses I had thoses zaps randomly through my body & numerous other things. Also whether its true or just part of an excuse myhusband & I are separated right now & he says that when I started on that I became a different person & he doesn't like who I became & I know the side effects do include a lot of bad things inculing mood changes etc so I imagine it could probably affect your bc too.

My spotting has turned into like a period for me and my back is just acheing and my period isn't due for like 9-10 more days.  I haven't been taking them regularly because a whole pill made me throw up so I stopped taking it until I talked to my doctor then he put me on half and then I still didn't feel great with that and went off again, so I've been off of them for like 2 days now.  I notice it has helped because since I got off, I cry like crazy and just feel so crappy about myself...

The crying & feeling crappy about yourself are also side effects of getting off cymbalta. It can cause you to go from happy to violent in moments for no reason at all. Have you talked to your Dr about one that doesn't make you throw up?  Also ~and I'm sure you've heard this :)~ try to remember we can choose which side we want to see in life the good or the bad, try to see the good. If you are without the meds look around you & try to see the silver lining even in the bad things. I know it's hard but it can help, I know it also can suck being on meds all the time. If you need to talk let me know :)

How are things going? Are you ok? Did your Dr find out what was going on?

He thought it was normal(I dont but Im not a doctor I guess)  I bleed for about 2 weeks and have recently stopped.  I don't know if that last week was my period or what.  I switched to Lexapro instead of Cymbolta.

At least you stopped bleeding, that can be scary. Does the Lexapro seem to be working?
