I have a peeping tom and he lives with me

I'm 17. I live with my mom who allowed her convicted felon, alcoholic brother to live with us a few years ago. When I was about 16. So I always felt uncomfortable around him. Wouldn't go braless (I have a large bust), always felt that he was watching me in a creepy way. I caught him watching a porno once. Found his porn stash a few times. So basically the way my room is set up or whatever you can go in the backyard on the patio and see in my room through my window. Where my window is placed and the shape of my room, there is literally not one place you can not be seen. So I finished a shower and was going in my room to change. I noticed my curtains and blinds moved to the side very subtly. I thought it was weird but brushed it off and moved it back. It kept happening. Then I thought it was too weird and showed my mom. My underwear was being laid out too. Not like "here's your clean laundry" but in a creepy way...it was *too* perfect. That happened a couple times and one of those times it looked like someone actually took them out of my dresser and laid my bras and panties out. She took me to see someone and the lady who knew about this (her job but I forget the name of the profession) said it was a peeping tom and the underwear thing was like a statement to say "I'm watching you". They couldn't do anything since there was no proof as to who it was. I figured out who but had no solid evidence pointing to him. My uncle is the only one who goes in the backyard...all this stopped after he moved out. Then he moved back. Still have intense anxiety around him. He still lives here and I literally hate being in the same room with that pervert.

I don't know what to do. My mom won't kick him out because she rents and even if she tried he won't leave.
Any help?
It didn't start up again for some reason after he moved back...I don't know why.

A lock on the bedroom door, too. Even one of those hook and eye types would work, they are inexpensive at the hardware store. He should never even be in your room, let alone have access to your clothes.

(I realize those two thoughts don't really connect. He should not be able to get in when you are inside, and for that even a hardware-store lock will do. But as far as not messing with your intimate clothes, you should have a lockset in the bedroom door and you carry the key. What a creep.)

My worry is for you. These things can escalate. He should not be in the house where you are. He should also not have access to the yard. I'm pretty indignant at your mom's choices here.

Do you have any trustworthy relative you can move in with, such as an aunt or grandma? Your mom is clearly not able to say no to this guy, and you should not be there for him to prey on. In my book, she is not doing enough to protect you. But if you say she is doing all she can, then it's up to other people who love you to step in and help you.

Was he convicted of any sex crimes in the past?  What does your mom say about all of this?  Is your dad in the picture?  If so have you thought about moving in with him?

Tell your dad.  Make a police report by calling it in.  Just enough to harass your uncle. But when there is a will there is a way.  While you shouldn't have to be on lock down, take your clothes INTO the bathroom.  Use a robe and go into the closet to change or grab your clothes and go back to the bathroom.

When you say it didn't start up again when he moved back in, what do you mean?

PS, you are almost a legal adult.  What is your plan for the end of high school?
