I have a very frustrating problem with my noseNose fracture. My right nostrilNostril nasal decongestant ALWAYS stays congested. I'm livingAdvanced care directives my life breathing through my left nostrilNostril nasal decongestant and it is very frustrating. There are a couple of things that provide me with relief from my symptoms. The simplest way for me is to sleep on my left side and within 1-2 minutes, my right nostrilNostril nasal decongestant opens up, only to return inexplicably in about 10-15 minutes. Even during the daytimeDaytime cold Daytime cold & flu relief Daytime liquicap, I sometimes pretend like I'm sleeping on someone's shoulder. I've tried flonase and nasonex and they rarely provide me with actual results. Even when it does provide me relief, I don't know if its due to me leaning or if it is the medication! The other thing I do is I use the generic equivalent of afrin. It works amazingly well, but there is a warning that you're not supposed to take it for more than 3 days in a row. I also do saline sprays and they provide me with instant relief as well. Sometimes I do 5 push ups to get rid of my symptoms. Is there anyone else who sleeps on the opposite side of their congested nostril for relief? I've browsed the web many times, but I can't find out why doing so helps. I would also appreciate if someone can tell me what is actually wrong with me. Since I don't have a sense of smell through my right nostril when it is congested (90% of the time), I've narrowed it down to a deviated septum or nasal polyps. I don't have a problem with surgery, but hoping its not polyps just because I read this article:
