Singulair hypertension disapearance

by daveizmir, Apr 04, 2008 08:17AM
I have moderate asthma, usually EIB, characterized by extreme fatigue and SOB subsequent to exercise.  I am 48 Y/O American male working in Kuwait .

I use sybicort inhaler A.M/P.M and ventolin for exercise.  Not much improvement in EIB following exercise.

I do have uncontrolled hypertension that is treated with Zestril 20 mg and Norvask  5 mg. daily.

Recently added 10 mg. of Singulair 10 mg prior to sleep.  As far as Asthma goes its to early to tell, however, my hypertension disappeared.  It is usually 130-145/85-90 medicated, however, after coffee or stress it elevates to 165/105-110 for several hours combined with excessive sweating and other symptoms of overactive sympathetic nervous system activity.  Recent reading over past week average 116/70 with Singulair use, even after coffee.

Asking the doctors around here is a waste of time as they only guess and toss meds.  Any ideas?

Thanks
Dave

A recent heart cath test this week indicates a 95% blockage of my LAD artery discounting my shortness of breath being pulmonary related.  I have no idea what treatment is next.  However, I assume the Singulair reduced the 5 LO inflammation pathway and resulted in eliminating the hypertension.

I am still awaiting my cardiologist’s recommendation for my treatment options.

Thank You

Dave
