Trouble Breathing

I used to be a smoker, but only for a few years.  I am 24 and don't feel that the amount of time that I smoked should have caused the condition that I am experiencing.  Lately, I have had shortness of breath where I feeel like my lungs are incapable of fully filling up with oxygen.  Also, I am having trouble yawning.  By this, I mean that i will start what feels like a yawn, but the full yawn is never completed.  I believe this could be psychological, but am not sure.  Can you tell my what respiratory conditions, ailments, disorders, etc. that I could be experiencing?  Thank you.

I'm having the same trouble.

I'm 23, experiencing SOB, and completely unable to yawn. I feel like my body is unable to figure out how much oxygen it needs.

Only other thing is that my body temperature is lower than it should be. It was at 96.1 degrees when I first checked, and went up to 97.5 over a couple days. Though, now it's back down to 97.1.

chronic hyperventilation is a common thing people experience. It is often stress/anxiety related, even when you don't realize you have it. It's not easy to see as the person is over breathing and yawning excessively. check out the symptoms and see if it is similar to what you are experiencing. But it is probably good to check with your doctor just to make sure you're not experiencing any other disorder of the lungs. Asthma is another common condition, and symptoms are usually shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing and chest tightness. You don't necessarily have to experience those all at once. Often exertion will bring the symptoms out more so.
