how long of a life span does a person have in stage 4

my dad is in stage 4 he also has high bloodpressure and just quit smoking 2 weeks ago also is a heavy drinker but has not drunk anything for 2 weeks. he now is on oxygen 24/7 2 different types of breathing treatments each 4 times a day and 2 inhalers. the dr. asked about a living will. does this mean he is near the end of his life? about how long does someone in stage 4 with these problems live?
