paralised diagphram

hi.
i am 61 years old & i was diagnosed some 8 years ago with the paralasis of the digaphram , i was a keen swimmer at the time & had not been ill , i just went for my normal daily swim & i was gasping for oxygen in no time . i gave over swimming as i could not get my breathing in rhythum to my stroke .
anyway i have been back swimming now for over a year & learnt to adapt the breathing to my stroke , but i can tell you it is very difficut but i have got good stamina. i do 64 lengths 5 days a week in a time of 33 minutes , i used to do it in 26 ,but iam not moaning at that .
my question is there any operation to mend my condition or improve it anyway , i would be willing to have a operation & travel anywhere to see the right man for the job ?, is there anyone else out there with the same problem ?, if so please tell me how you cope .
                                       regards

Good to see that you are active and are doing the pranayam. Just note down what  improvements you want to see in your health, and this will help you to notice the benefits you experience from pranayam.Your feedback is helpful for me and others readers.

Breathing exercises known as pranayam, will help to restore the diaphram. The extra oxygen going into the body will help to improve the body systems. You have stamina, so you should be able to do it easily. You will notice the difference in weeks.
Come back to report your progress and I will monitor your posts and respond.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
