First of all, are you having symptoms from the paralysisCerebral palsy Facial paralysis Isolated sleep paralysis Laryngeal nerve damage Muscle function loss Parkinson’s disease Poliomyelitis? Some people don't, in fact, most cases are found incedentally from a xray of the chest. If you aren't symptomatic, then docs will probably not do much except to monitor it and your breathing functions.
What has your own doctor told you?
If you are having shortness of breathBreath alcohol test Breath holding spell Breath odor and it is severe then doctors might consider other options such as plication (where they tack down the affected side to prevent it from moving up into the chest cavity with breathing)
I forgot to ask, how long has your diaphragmDiaphragm Diaphragm and lungs Diaphragmatic hernia repair - series The diaphragm been paralyzed? Sometimes this a temporary condition after surgeries such as CABG's that can range from days to 6 months from what I was told but I could be wrong. The best person to ask would be your doctor.
I hope that you get some answers, don't hesitate to sit down with your doctor and get all of the facts set on the table so that you know your options etc..
