Dude. Its awesome that you found the reason and can get cured. Congrats. Sorry that it took so long.
Your infection was may have been sexually transmitted but that does not make it an STD. STDs are a specific list of infections. Yeast is not one of them.
You can catch all kinds of infections during sex, i.e. a common cold, HSV1, yeast, etc. However that does not make them STDs.
I would be interested to know a bit more about the progression of your symptoms. Have you found any good websites that discuss a similar scenario?
I am interested in this, I have been suspecting I have that type of yeast infection as well due to my white tongue and white saliva. I failed the candida spit test too. What is the treatment regiment you are going to go through?
Have you tried contacting STD clinics in Canada? I know that they should be able to perform the blood tests and/or physcial exams for herpes (if you are having a outbreak).
As for HPV, I was told there is no current reliable test for men. The only way I know HPV is check for with men is if they have gential warts and then they are diagnoised with HPV strain. Mind you, there is over 100 strains of HPV to date and 80-90% of sexually active people will acquire it at some point in their lives.
Good Luck.
see, i understand this too. i been told to go see a shrink then again i was eating, drinking, or sleeping & growing suicidal. i snapped out of it but everyone was telling me i am fine, i don't need any help or tests. i feel the discomfort & turns out there 99% sure my discomfort & symptoms are related to prostate bacteria. not sure how i get that. i just wanna be better. doctors are human though & make mistakes. i don't think you should be hating on them. i am so thankful they would see me time & time again. i am sure they feel like were the little boy crying wolfffffffffffffffffff. at the same time, we needed help & seeing doctors were the only way of gaining peace of mind.
i live in Canada - my Q: is how do i get checked for hpv or herpes here? i did all the other tests. if anyone knows lemme know? my doctor refuses to send me to a urologist. i take it i could prob get that done by a urologist or dermatologist. **** i just want my old life back. i would never wanna hurt someone & put them through what i gone through this past 8 weeks. if anyone believes in prayer, please shout me out. all the best, cheers, & God bless.
So have you gone or contacted every doctor you have seen in the past nine years to tell them they were quacks as well or is this one just easier access?
Also, you stated at first you only did "oral" things with your partner and now you are stating you had full blown sex. Women may not show signs of yeast infections for a while actually where others show it more frequently - normally, a woman's body could right itself during their blood when their systems are flushed out and normal bacterica begins to grow again.
Dr. HHH is abrasive at times but have you seen how many questions they get per day? Plus the fact he has to go back to people are emotionally upset and try to explain to them over and over again STD statistics. As AJ said too, there is no such thing as an infallible doctor and from what I read from your questions Dr. HHH wasn't the only one (doctor-wise) who thought it was all in your head.
And again, Dr. HHH could not physcially see any of your symptoms so to expect a doctor to fully diagnois you from an online forum is a bit over your head. I understand you are upset that NONE of your doctors could assist you with your yeast infection. I'm not sure how you could get a yeast infection in your bowels if you only where engaging in oral sex anyway. Yet, coming on here and berating the doctor isn't the way to go. So, Dr. HHH couldn't assist you - it doesn't make him an idiot.
He is an idiot because he was so quick to dismiss the systemic yeast infection as proposed by steve123. He took an incorrect position and even berrated (sp) those contributing threatening to take down the thread all because of "the quackery yeast infection". He is an idiott becasue he was so quick to dismiss based on his "extensive" and "expert" knowledge and let his ego get in the way of learning something.
As for the other poster who thinks it's not an std.... I got it by having sex with that girl. My fiance now has it because we are having sexual contact.... She had no symptoms for the 4 months prior when we had no sexual contact. Ergo...It is a sexually transmitted disease.
Walks like a duck...quacks like a duck...tests positive for a duck... You can see where I'm going with this.
There is no such thing as an infallible doctor.
Also, systemic yeast isn't an std.
I'm glad you are getting some answers.
AJ
Oh, and the other thing about yeast infections being sexually transmitted. In a sense, that is correct but it's not thought of as a sexually transmitted disease - yeast infections are caused by imbalance of bacteria and can be transferred but not considered something like gonorrhea or chlamydia.
Good Luck though...
So... it wasn't an STD as you kept claiming it to be, something that is Dr. HHH's speciality. You have a yeast infection, which isn't an STD.
And Dr. HHH is on the internet, where it would be hard to diaginos any choric infection without seeing the actual symptoms eye-to-eye.
Yep...
