I'm a 29 year old hispanic male and I was hoping to get some help. About 8 weeks ago, I had unprotected sex with a woman after a night out drinking with some friends. First, just some quick history: this is only the third person I've had sex with. I was married for 7 years up until 4 months ago so I don't have much of a multiple partner history and haven't had any issues until now.
About 3-4 weeks after the encounter, I started getting a couple of small red dots on the head of my penis and foreskin (uncircumcised). The dots went away after a day or so, but I maintained a red rash on the urethral meatus and foreskin. The foreskin's rash is only located in the area that is near the meatus when not pulled back. I did some reading online and thought it might be balanitis/yeast infection (despite my obsessive hygiene) so I used a miconazole cream for about 5 days near the urethral opening and foreskin. I ended up getting a small crack (maybe a quarter inch in length) on the tip of my foreskin and some dry skin. That healed pretty quick but the foreskin redness remained. The same day as the crack, the irritated meatus seemed to develop a "cut" (for a lack of description) on the meatus at a 10 degree angle to the opening slit of the urethra. To be honest, it may have been there earlier but didn't notice it. The cut is about a quarter inch in length, a sixteenth of an inch deep.
I went to my GP and he thought I had some sort of fungal infection, and gave me a Diflucan Rx. A culture he took for fungal came back negative and the diflucan didn't work. At 8 weeks, the cut is still there (3 weeks since I noticed it), the meatus is still red and irritated, the foreskin remains red, but only a half inch band near the tip. I've been using Hydrocortisone 1% which makes it look much less irritated, but if I skip a day, it comes back. Furthermore, I get random red dots (ball point pen tip size) on my penis head, which go away within hours if I use Hydrocortisone. Lately, I've felt mild stinging on my penis head, by only once in a while, and I occassional get a feeling of pressure in my left testicle. No pain urinating, no itching, and no constant burning of any sort.
My GP just did a urethral swab and I'm waiting for a results. Does this sound like an STD or just a coincidence? Should I get tested for other things? Could it be something like Herpes? If so, I know I need to wait three months for a blood test to be accurate, but in the meantime, any ideas? The cut is a really odd symptom and I can't find much else online.
