General std questions

Symptoms are tingle in tip, sometimes I feel like I have to pee right after I already went, doesnt seem like it burns but if so maybe slightly.  Also sometimes I have lower right back pain and front right abdominal pain (not in same area as back)  Thats been going on so im not sure if its related.  Sometimes I feel a pressure in my bladder area...and if I feel like I have to go and stand up it feels better sometimes.

If I was negative for everything except hsv1 from one of those online sites that send you to a local lab for samples would that still leave NGU as a possibility?  They did a urinalysis NAAT and blood test.

The urine I gave was first of the day but I just peed in the cup and filled it.  Wasnt mid stream and it was a full cup.  Could that cause a false negative or alter the urinalysis?

Is the only way to detect NGU is via a swab?

Can you have NGU with out discharge other than from what seems to be after arousal or during defecation?

Could I test negative for Chlamydia but my female partner test positive for it?

What are the symptoms of an oral std?

During all this I have seen a regular doc and a urologist...there have been regular urine test in the office that looked fine and another urine test sent off to have what I think was another NAAT test (negative) but was about 10days after cipro and it was a midstream catch.  First doc tried cipro 250 for 7 days.  Urologist tried doxy for 10days.  Cipro had no effect...doxy seemed to clear up the urinating feeling but that has also come and gone some during all this so im not sure.

If doxy did help....would that mean definite a STD?

I have also bee pretty stressed about all this...

yep, that's how we do it - finger up the butt.

no, you didn't give too much urine.

go back and be seen again for further evaluation to try to get to the bottom of it all.

The doc did a prostate exame with his fingers and said it felt normal...not sure if that is a difinitive way of testing and 100% accurate result?  And for instance yesterday I felt fine it seemed...went #2 and almost right after had the feeling of the urge to go to the bathroom and tingle...and im mostly fine this morning.  So I kinda agree that it seems it might not be std related.  I guess what worries me most about that is did I give too much urine the first time I did it and diluted it too much to give accurate results?  Also if it was a prostate infection wouldnt something show up on the urine test?

Thanks again

this sounds more like a prostate infection than it does a std. continue to follow up with the urologist as needed. you might need a longer course of antibiotics.

Some more info I forgot. 45yo straight male...posible exposere was unprotected oral (giving and reciving) and protected vaginal about 10 weeks ago.  First std test was at 4 weeks when symptoms seemed to just come on.  maybe there was a tingle every now and then before...I dont recall becasue I wasnt worried then.

Thanks.
