Extreme Vaginal Problems

I was first diagnosed with Chlamydia by our local health department, was treated. After treatment I still had occuring symptoms. I went back to health department and was diagnosed with Gonerrhea(Spelling?) and was treated, but again symptoms still existed. I did not believe I had neither of these STDs, due to the fact that I was only sexually involved with one person. Although I was raped at a very young age. Since I did not believe I ever had these diseases due to same symptoms still occuring I decided to go to a local OB/GYN. Here I was diagnosed with a yeast infection, and once again treated. Symptoms still occured and so I kept going back to be diagnosed with a yeast infection each and every time. I also had extreme burning with urinating and with that I was always diagnosed with UTI, kidney infection, bladder infection...I've heard it all....I still have the same symptoms and problems and yet to find a cure. This problem has been going on for several years. I'm so worried that the issue because has went on for a long time will cause infertility and i'm scared because I want children and mad because i've been trying to get a treatment or diagnosis of my issue. As a child I was raped, and i started trying to remember everything that happened and incidents within. I thought about the rapist inserting a object in my vagina and advising me that it was lodged in. As  a young child I was scared and did not tell anyone. Still to this day I feel as though that object is still lodged inside and doing all the research possible I did read where a foreign object in the vagina will cause discharge, but will it also cause problems with sex, dryness, UTI, infections, yeast infections, etc???? I'm only 22 and scared to advise the doctor. Although I've had several ultrasounds, nothing was ever discovered but I did not alert the doctor of this possiblity. I'm 22 with vaginal dryness, no desire for sex(because of the pain I go through during and after), burning urination, discharge, lower abdominal pain, pain after sex using condoms, burning inside vagina if partener ejaculates inside, etc. I need help on what to do next, what to tell the doctor to alert him that something really is wrong instead of going for the same process and being diagnosed with same issue, and do I need to see a specialist or GYN should be able to help?

All the IgG test will do is rule out herpes as a cause, really.

I'm sorry this has been hard on your relationship.  :(

Let me know if you do the hormone testing - I'd be interested to hear how it goes.

Thanks Jess! I'm pretty strong when it comes to the rape situation. It's now been 13 years since that incident. I've been with my partener for 7 years, and I just don't feel the issue is a STD due to the fact that he has never had anything or any symptoms and has been checked frequently due to all of my issues, and we do not use condoms. What would a type specific IgG blood test do? I've had plenty tell me about hormone testing, so I do want to do that but if a cure or cause don't come soon i'm going to be out of a fiance because i'm not pleasing him like I use to because my sex drive has just decreased dramatically due to I think of the problems I go through if we do have sex, and sex is painful so who wants to go through that?

If you had something lodged inside you, they would have seen it on the ultrasound.

I'm so sorry you went through that.

It seems as if you have been tested for everything except maybe herpes?  Your symptoms don't sound like it, but if you want to put std causes out of your head, then ask your doc for a type specific IgG blood test.

You might also ask your doc for some hormone testing.  If you are low on estrogen, that could also cause your symptoms.

I wish you the best of luck.  If you haven't, you should talk to a rape crisis center or sexual assault counselor.  Go to www.rainn.org to call a hotline or find a center near you.
