How long can it take to see symptons of herpes?

March of this year I received oral sex.....and I was really worried about catching something from that encounter. 2 weeks later I did not have any symptons, but I went and got checked out anyways. All test came back negative...but I did not get checked for herpes. About 1 month ago, I masturbated and there was no irratation there at all. The next day, My wife had gave me oral sex, and it wasn't too rough, and again no irratation. The next day my wife and I had intercourse, and it lasted along time. Afterwards, I felt some pain on the left side of the shaft of my penis. The next day we had sex again, and it was painful. My wife looked at the area where it was sore, and said that there was a decent size bump or "pimple" there, but it was not red at all, and it looked like the skin had been rubbed off. It went away fairly quickly(a few days), and it did scab up. I would say around 2 weeks ago, my wife complained about some pain on the inner lip  on the left side of her vagina. I looked and there was a bump, with no redness, and it does not look like any of the herpes photo's i have saw. She said that she peed alot, and might of rubbed the skin off.  It was starting to go away, and I skipped looking at the spot for a day or so. When I looked at it again a few days later, there were 4-5 of the same bumps present, with very little redness, but no blisters ever formed on that spot at all during the whole thing. She said it doesn't hurt at all, very little iching, and she said that she felt very little "tingling" and only for a few seconds. most of the sores have went away leaving some redness there, and now there is one starting to form on the other side of her inner vagina lip on the right side where it was touching the left side. also, there is a little redness in the center of her vagina. There is also discharge that is milky and thin...I hate to say it but it looks like milk(sorry), but it does not smell at all. One more point- the area where the 4-5 bumps/sores were located on her vagina is on the same side as the sore that was on my penis. Is this herpes? could it show up so long between march and the present without any symptons at all?

It could just be plain ole cervicitis too. Hopefully they sent everything off for tests and you'll have answers in a couple of days.

Well, my wife went and got checked out at the local clinic, and the doc there really didn't know what the bumps were. she said it could possibly be herpes because the bumps were clustered around eachother, but when they did a culture on it...no fluid was present, so she's not really sure. They done a pelvic exam on her and determined that there is some kind of infection in her vagina area, as there were "as she put it" a very high white blood cell count, and also when they did the exam, she said that my wife's cervix was bleeding a little? She believes that it could be Chlamydia or gonorrhea? I really don't think that is it for the simple fact that in march, I got tested for all of that and it was all negative? what do you think?

thin milky discharge is usually bv - a common bacterial vaginal infection in us gals. Your wife needs to go and be seen by her provider to find out what is going on.

Hsv1 genitally tends not to reoccur very often and that would've been the risk herpeswise from receiving oral sex.  It's more likely that this is something else going on than herpes but if you really want to know you both need checked out.  You never had a baseline herpes igg blood test done from the sounds of things so even if this does turn out to be herpes - I wouldn't assume it came from your oral sex encounter in march ( and chances are good that your wife has never been tested for herpes either ).  It's not unusual for folks to be infected with hsv2 genitally and not realize it until they've become hyperaware of things down yonder and start taking closer notice to things that before they didn't think twice about ( as in your own symptoms ) or they start getting more noticeable symptoms ( as in your wife's symptoms ).
