Penis rubbing and syphillis

Hi, I am wondering if I have put myself at risk for syphillis. I engaged in mutual penis rubbing to orgasm with a friend. He had a 'crater' on his penis head and prior to our activities I asked him about it and he said he's always had that, its nothing. Today I research it and find out that is a potential syphillis lesion. I am unsure weather my penis hit the lesion but it may have, is this a risk scenario? I did touch it with my hand, is this a risk? I am also reading syphillis is low in the u.s. but other sites are saying it is common. Any help is appreciated.

Well it still make it low risk, but better chance if you were rubbing your penis on the sore. The skin on the penis is more subseptable to syphlis then the hand.

You are a savior thank you so much ok last question I promise. I was just wondering if you knew it was penis to penis rubbing not hand to penis, and does this change risk factor.

I'm a female... bud.. =)

well did you see a syphilis like canker or just a dip in skin bc defects aren't rare.
it is skin to skin transmitted through contact with an actual sore. if you are infected you can spread it if you get an actual sore. I don't want to down play your encounter but this is a low risk and you aren't sure if he 1 has it or 2 if you touch what appeared to be a canker.

You saw a canker and didn't take any precaution you will have to wait to get tested just o be sure and inthe mean time I bet you will be jumping off the walls with questions and freaking out which is why talking to him is your best bet for the time.

I really appreciate this bud, I'd love to ask him to test but he lied to me from the get go (unless it really has been there forever/birth defect or what have you.) How is syph transmitted and if I am infected can I spread it?? Sorry for all the questions really appreciate your help.

syphilis is low in the us but still exsistant... rubbing is a very low risk but because you saw an sore I would recommend test just to be safe... if he's a friend I would also talk to him about this to see if he wouldn't mind getting tested as you would need to wait 6-8 weeks for a conclusive test result or unless you get a canker yourself you can have that swab
