Help figuring out what is wrong with me.

I have spent the last 10 months trying to figure out what is wrong and if I can ever be healthy again. I have seen two PCPS, Two urologist, Dermatologist and Infectious Disease doc.

This is my origianl post for the history. This is now 10 months later.

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Herpes/Not-sure/show/1553753#post_7054767

The urologist diagnosed me with Prostatitis and said I did not have std.  I took cipro which seem to work for a few days then not after that for the 4 weeks. Things did not change much. I still thought this was std.

I went to PCP and ask to have another (third round in 6 months all other negative) STD blood test but this time I asked for chlamydia blood test (last tests were all swabs) which HIV, Syphilis, Herpes came back non reactive but the chlamydia show IGM, IGG level elevated. My Urologist then told me I had chlamydial prostatitis and prescribed doxycycl which seemed to really help for 4 weeks. He said these levels indicate cronis ongoing infection which made sense since it was not identified or treated.

Two weeks later yet again, the glans on penis had oval shaped rash like area on top to pee hole then go down under forskin where to this day I have a patch of bumps. I also had blurred vision at times.  At worst, the glans would tingle or feel like a cell phone vibrating, I would have a few area around corona that would have either like black head and one that look white head but not able to pop. The underside of forskin had where I was circumsized, a patch of bumps would inflame.  These were not fluid filled but would get inflammed when this happend.

I went back to Urologist and said this is not going away, he told me I had no std and this was prostatitis which from my research not all of it made sense on symptoms. The urologist also started to tell me he seen no pathogens on my penis and he has been practicing 40 years. He was going to give me cipro again and I said doxy seemed to work so he prescribed it for another 4 weeks which things seemed to start going away over that month except the blurred vision at times.

I went to infectious disease doc who said I dont have herpes or std. I then went to dermatologist who said it was irritated and gave me steroid lotion but said again I dont have std causing this. I then continued to have symptoms and went to another urologist for second opinion who said prostatitis and told me if doxycycl is working, continue taking it and he gave me 3 months script. I am not crazy, I have not been the same since this has happend last july. I have not had any sexual relations since this has happened nor would even consider it the way I feel. I am asking if you could offer your opinion of what this could be. I am not convinced this is not std by it not healing and going away, prostatitis from what I read does not leave bumps like rough patch of skin.

To date, I am taking doxy daily and it seems to be better but has not went completely away.  After about 4 weeks on tingle/vibrate feeling in head while taking doxy, it that resided but the glans still has the smaller oval shaped rash area and the bump shrunk way down but remain. Please help me figure this out. I am single and will not even think about having any relationship until I am 100% healthy and know what it is. I can add pics if needed.

Thank you.

Grace,

Thank you for responding. I have changed just about everything, bedding, blood pressure medication, stopped any vitamins, bought new cotton underwear, tried fungal creams, diaper rash creams, etc. I just come back to herpes thinking could it be mild as in no itching, burning or blisters. It is in same place and never seems to go away. What is a pattern is when this happens, I get burning eye, blurry at times, some tingling in glans and foreskin. I just feel helpless as I cant get this cured or figured out. If this is dermatitis is that contagious where I could give it to girlfriend via oral?

Any recomendations for tests or ways to figure this out?

I dont want to pester you just want to ask these questions. I appreciate all your help.

depending on the cause of the dermatitis, depends on how long it will linger. you have to figure out what is causing it.

really, nothing else we can help you with on this forum. with this issue.   this isn't std related and this is the std forum.  best of luck getting to the bottom of it so you can get back to "normal" :)

Grace,

I still have rash on penis glans and doctors are telling me its not an std. I also have a patch a rough bumpy skin under foreskin, posted pics on this post that seem to have almost went away but not all the way.

Can you please try to help me figure out what to do to find out what this? Following my last post I went to dermatologist with rash, she did biopsy on glans. A week later called me and said they think its either drug reaction or dermatitis. I have stopped taking any medications (changed high blood pressure explaining this to PCP) and this still have not went away. I am mentally beat down and want to get this resolved. What do you think?

Thank you in advance.

I forgot to mention after 4 months of PCP trying to figure this out I went to urologist who tested me and said prostatitis. Then I asked him to do another STD panel which this time he order blood Chlamydia with HSV, Syphilis and HIV,and Hep B and C. All but Chlamydia came back negative. Chlamydia was hit on all three tieters but IGM was high urolist said like its chronic which made sense to me since I was suffering for months and everyone saying its not std. I also two months later went to healthclinic and had yet another round of STD test all as before but they did not test HSV. All negative. I went to infectious disease they said not HSV or look like any STD, then went to dermetologist who said not std  but something, gave me steroid creme wich did nothing to help. I have tried jock itch creme, noesporn no help. I seemed to be healing slowly but not going all the way and seem to come back every few weeks. Sorry for long story but need to said what I have done up to this point.

Last year when this originally started, I was pretty sick, docs could not figure out what it was, swab tests came back negative for Chlamydia NGU IGM which urologist said I had prostatitis and then changed diagnosis to chlamydia prostatitis. Changed me from cipro to doxycyle for three months. I helped the multitude of symtoms but my penis glans and underside have been slowly healing but having minor irratations that seem to flair up . I also have some vision burryness when this seems to be going on to. I am frustrated because I know how I was before this happened and how I have been since it started. Its not all the way gone and no one seems to know exactly what it is. I am not crazy this is real and its hard not to get worried after all this time. If I can get this healed up and back to normal the would be great or know what it really is causing it.

Man ur pics dont look like herpes
Stop panicking
I panicked after some rash on my penis and doc told me its not herpes rash
in blood test i found i have HSV 1
and its not genital as the doc never said this looks like hsv 1 genital rash, or else he would have taken it to culture...
HSV 1 almost many people have and it is very common

I did go back to doctor who thinks its not std. I also went back to dermatologist who said its not std but could be an irritation...? Its been 14 months since I have had sex. The irritation that happens on penis glans is still there and underside of penis where my circumcision line is i had bumps back then that have receded but not gone away. I have pictures posted:

I am single and have not had a relationship over this. Until I can either heal it and its gone 100% or I know what it is, std or what ever,  I cant have a relationship. It has been devastating me. I am asking anyone to help me on this please.

Thank you Vance2335 for the follow up and if this is not std causing what could cause these other issues? Anyone have other ideas of what would cause this? I know I am not in same health as before this all started. I have researched prostatitis and everything going on does not match up to it. I am not saying I disagree with prostatitis diagnosis but could there be something else causing the other symptoms, irrated bumps on foreskin (skin color) at times and the glans with oval irrated area on top? My glans is very sensitive in this area and the bumps have not went away and at time are irrated. This has pretty much destroyed any sexual arousal or any desire to have a relationship (I am single). Could this aftermath of chlamydia to cause the patch of bumps and glans rash or something else like the bumps being HPV? I know my body and if this was treated and cured I would not have these problems and feel this was 10 months later. I am also still taking doxy which all doctors told me to continue. I am very appreciative for any help to these problems.

Thank you.

You have seen 4 Dr's, no way we are going to be anymore of help then they would be. Espically the ID and uriologist. I'm sorry but I don't see how we can be of any help based on your negative tests and Dr's agreeing that this is not STD related.
