Severe outbreak

I was diagnosed with herpes in September of 2007 after having sexual intercourse with my partner of 5 years. He still does not believe that he gave me the virus, since he has not had any outbreaks. But I have had multiple outbreak and I am now taking Valtrex. A few month after being diagnosed, I began have heavy vaginal discharge. I associated this discharge with my virus. However, this time it is more uncomfortable,my anus is itching and burning, and my entire vaginal area is inflamed and itching. Is this associated with the herpes virus or could it be something else? What can I do to ease the pain?

The heavy discharge you are experiencing is probably from another vaginal infection or a yeast infection.  To my knowledge, HSV does not cause the discharge you are describing.  You should see a gynecologist to find out what's going on - an antibiotic or antifungal will probably clear things up.

See a doctor. Discharge probably indicates an infection, which means different medication.
