Swab Testing

I've seen several posts on here stating that you shouldn't urinate for atleast 1-2 hours before giving a urine sample.  Well, I went to the urologist a few weeks back and gave a urine sample for a routine urinalysis when I first arrived.  After about 30 minutes of waiting and being examined the doctor said he could do a urethral swab to test for chlamydia and gonnorrhea if I was concerned about it.  I told him to go ahead but it had only been 20 to 30 minutes since I urinated.  Would this ruin the test?  Thanks.

I haven't seen the doctors here comment on this.  What have you heard them say?

I have heard 2 things on this...yes it would be ok because the swab would pick up any bacteria. But also heard no becuase the urna would wash out the bacteria. But if a uriologist is confident that it will be fine then I would sie with him.
