Risk of infection

Hello. I have just been told I have secondary stage syphillis. I am concerned because a friend of mine drank some of my drink through the straw I was using. I had only had drank from the straw once, and he only drank from it once, but I feel anxious just in case I might have infected him. I have read that infection from eating utensils is not usual-would this apply here? I am perhaps overreacting, but just feel dreadful at the thought of maybe having infected him, too. Thank to anyone who can give me some information
