epididymis pain

two months ago, risky exposure with unknown female.  Risk in form of unprotected oral sex.  three weeks after exposure, began pain behind right testicle.  rather dull, but there.  enough to notice.  Pain has been constant for six weeks now.  no better no worse.  mild, but there.  Also, pressure and what appears to be a bit of swelling in lower right abdomen (inguinal gland).  six weeks after expsure, test negative for gonn and chlam.  7 weeks after expsure test negative for gonn and chlam.  two different labs, both using NAAT for testing.  Question.  Is it possible that I had gonorrhea and cleared if from urethra before testing but bacteria remained in epididymis?  If this is the case would it than not show up in urine test?  Two negatives but i think i tested too late and urine test can no longer detect the bacteria, but it is stuck in my testicle.  Is this possible?

Possible...anything is possible but very very very HIGHLY unlikely. Only real way it was false negative is if someone screwed up the tests.

Best advice is to keep working with a Dr.

I appreciate all the comments here.  I'm still at a loss.  the pain that resembles epididymitis persists to this day.  I have fullness in the area of my inguinal glands.  I went to another doctor for another opinion.  I could not leave it alone.  The pain and discomfort is persistent.  I provided urine samples for chlam/gon NAAT tests and another sample for urine culture.  This will be my third test for STD.  First one was July 3, second one was July 10 and this one now on July 23.  I am at a loss for what can be causing this.  I met with new doctor explained to him my entire story and asked his to treat me like a new patient with symptoms, hence the urine tests.  He noticed a fullness in my inguinal gland area.  I have had that for two weeks now.  I noticed it as well.  my GP said it was nothing.  new doctor says it is visible.  in addition to urine testing, i have scrotal, pelvic, stomach ultrasounds next week.  What troubles me is that most logical assumption is chlam/gon, but negative testing to date.  is it possible that both previous tests were false negative?  the pain/discomfort is from my lower right abdomen, down to right testicle.  my inner thigh/groin area.  I'm at whits end.  my family doctor says it can be viral, as not all cases are STD related.  Not sure if he is correct on that point.  Looking for a professional opinion or comments from those who have had similar experiences.

You would get a positive test no matter what.

Thanks. I asked him once. He gave me a similar response. Test says no so he says no.  As I have had two tests done i am not even thinking of a possibility of false negative.  I think my gp may not be as versed in sexual health as some people here.  I have read postings my doctor Handsfield where states gonorrhea can cure itself in a few weeks to a few months.  My worry is that the bacteria has cleared my urethra and spread to testicles and cannot be detected by urine naat.  I do understand it is somewhat of a longshot, but I need help understanding my issue.

It would be best to ask your gp about this. I will say that naat tests are very accurate and if it did not show up there you dont have it.

Thank you. I will definitely ask my gp about mycoplasma. However, regarding my question about gon and chlam. Is it possible to have it in my teaticles/epididymis and not show up on an std test (naat) using urine sample?

Mycoplasmas  lacks a cell wall and makes them unaffected by beta-lactam antibiotics. You need to ask the doctor about this to be certain.

Thanks for the heads up. I have also taken 2 week regiment of doxy 100mg twice a day. I figure that would handle the mycoplasma if it wa there?  Would it?

Hi and welcome. When it comes to reoccuing infections and unknown irritations in this area many times the cause is Mycroplasma and can be transmitted from oral sex. Its one of the newer std,s arriving and detecting them can be difficult but possible. Maybe ask you doctor about this.
