What could it be?

Dear Dr.

I’m a 28 years old male, uncircumcised and this is my story.

My wife and I have been in a trusting relationship for 5 years, last summer we decided to get pregnant. Shortly after she got pregnant I got this itch spot on the side of my penis (no puss, pimples or anything). I did not think much of it, as I found on the internet that it is common for woman to get yeast during pregnancy, so I bought anti fungal cream and in about 2 weeks it was gone, so I closed that case as a yeast infection.

About month later I went over seas on business (for 3 months) and made the mistake of taking a CSW to my room, not having a condom I rcvd unprotected oral and nothing else. Few days later I went to a dermatologist and he took a swap and that did not show any STD.

In the mean time my wife went to her “womans” doctor because of the pregnancy and mentioned my itchy spot to him to make sure everything is ok. He did not find anything unusual.

When I got back home, 3 months later, we had sex and that spot came again, so more anti fungal and everything went away in about 2 weeks. (this spot was at the size of a penny and on the same place as the one I got bfr.)

Again I went over seas, this was prob in January and everything was ok, about month later I came back home and we had sex, and this damn spot came again, again more anti fungal and everything went away, as her woman doctor could not find anything wrong we decided not to have unprotected sex until our child was born.

So now it is April and I was again over seas on business and I had to take some anti bacterial tablets for three days, few days later after a heavy beer drinking  I developed a itch rash and this time on my foreskin, not the side of my penis.

I had enough by that time and went to a dermatologist in the city I was in and asked for a complete STD panel,

I am positive for herpes 1 as expected (cold sores),
VDRL came back positive with the numbers (1:1) and the remarks: negative
And the swap showed positive for candida.
Everything else came back negative, including HIV

This is approx 6 months after the unprotected oral with the CSW.

She gave me 400mg of fungizol a day for 5 days and some cream, that all has gone away now.

So finally here comes my question:
Where this last itchy rash came I am always a bit red, like I have a rash, it does not hurt or itch or anything, and when I pull back my foreskin it turns normal in about 10 minutes or so. Is that anything to worry about and if so, what could it be? This has been now for approx 3 months. (maybe I’m just over examining my self)

Any suggestions?

I do get eczema on my face when in dry climate.

Your comments will be highly appreciated and thanx for a fantastic forum!

Your syphilis is probably a false positive.  I'm guessing your other test was a TP-PA.

You could have yeast, and your gf might not get it.  If she notices any itching or discharge, she should get checked for it.

One other thing, is it possible for me to have yeast and my GF does not have any symptoms and her doctor cant find anything wrong with her?

Thanx for the comment, yes, there was a negative confirmation test, something with 4 letters, not VDRL though. I've never had syphillis and the doc told me not to worry about that. (1:1) is she said as low as it gets, could be a false positive.

Did you have a confirmation test for syphilis (VDRL)?  Have you had syphilis before but had it treated?

If the swab found candida (yeast), that's what it is.  I'm not surprised it came back after you took the antibiotics - very common for that to happen.
