Window period

Could someone please let me know what is the window period for Syphilis? After how many weeks of a possible exposure a negative test can be considered conclusive?

Thanks

Thank you Vance2335! Although it is quite relieving to hear what you just said, I am afraid my doctor thinks that it can also be transmitted through blood contact, hence needle stick involves risk.

Needle stick...you had no risk for syphilis. Syphilis is passed from direct contact with a syphilis sore.

Thank you all for your replies. It has been 8 weeks and I have had no symptoms as such (except for a scratchy throat and runny nose for about 4-5 days after two weeks of the possible exposure). The risk was a needle stick injury.

I agree with gracefromHHP: "If you've had no symptoms, no reason to doubt your test results"

It's a small % of folks who need more than 6 weeks to test accurately for syphilis. If you've had no symptoms, no reason to doubt your test results. If you absolutely need the peace of mind, retest at the 3 month mark.

Negative. Some websites feed terrible advisory windows. It is conclusive.

Thank you very much JessyJames2010 for the information. I tested negative for VDRL and TPHA (Syphilis) at 6 weeks mark, but then I read somewhere on the internet that the window period for Syphilis is 10-90 days and I became really worried.

Do you think I should test again after sometime or you are pretty sure that my 6 weeks negative test is conclusive and I don't need to test any more?

Thanks again.
