STD's AND FOOD

A co-worker brought me food from her home. I ate it and afterwards regretted it. She let meknow she used to be a drug addict. My imagination got the best of me. Now I am worried that perhaps this person could have put her saliva in my food or God knows what kind of bodily fluid she could have put in my food and if she has an STD, let's say, Syphilis, Herpes, Gonoreah... all of them, can I get them from saliva in food? I am very worried and wish I never ate the food! This was 2 days ago (May 6, 2008).

Oh I should add that well over half the population has oral herpes, and even if you've never had a cold sore, you could too.

80% will have HPV in their lifetimes, and 1 in 4 have genital herpes type 2.  Obviously, not all these people are addicts.

There is absolutely no risk here.

Thank your friend for bringing you food, and be done with it.

You only get sexually transmitted diseases from sexual activity, and just because she used to use drugs (and she's strong for being able to get off drugs), doesn't mean she has any stds.

Anyone who has sex can get an std - it doesn't mean they were addicts or promiscuous or anything.
