correct time to test for STD?

Hey, just wanted some clarification regarding when to test for stds. I had unportected oral (I am man and received) sex episode and had tests (gon.,chlam. m.genitalum, trich., both ureapl.) 3,5 days later. Test was most modern urine PCR test. All tests returned negative. Should I be worried about the timing?

I found a post from Dr. Edward. W Hook where he is saying: "You can test for the most common STDs, gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU at any time more than 48 hours following exposure.  At that time a single test using a nucleic acid amplification test will give you completely reliable results."
This comment is from 2009 so I hope the tests today are even more accurate so my tests should be within proper timeframe.
Of course if any of specialists on this site can give his/her blessing to that, would be excellent.
